Customized Printing & Decoration Methods
At Rooted in Thanks, we know your gifts are more meaningful when they carry your brand’s story. That’s why we offer a wide range of decoration methods to bring your logo and artwork to life. Here’s a guide to help you choose the best option for your products.
3D Embroidery
What it is: Thread sewn over foam to create a raised design.
Best for: Caps, beanies, and apparel where you want your logo to stand out.
Things to know: Works best with solid shapes, text, and colours. Small details or fine lines may not be clear.
Debossing
What it is: A metal press creates a permanent indent in the product.
Best for: Notebooks, wristbands, and bags with PU or leather surfaces.
Things to know: Can be left as a “blind deboss” or filled with ink.
(Tip: Debossing = pressed in, Embossing = raised out).
Digital Transfer / SupaColour
What it is: Heat transfer method for detailed, full-colour designs including gradients.
Best for: T-shirts, bags, and apparel with high-resolution artwork.
Things to know: Durable finish, withstands regular washes, often more cost-effective than screen printing for multi-colour logos.
Embossing
What it is: A raised design created by pressing from underneath with a metal die.
Best for: Paper, card stock, and select apparel items like beanies.
Things to know: The opposite of debossing. Embossing = raised design.
Embroidery
What it is: Traditional stitched decoration for a premium, textured finish.
Best for: Uniforms, jackets, caps, beanies, towels, and blankets.
Things to know: Long-lasting and machine washable.
Pad Printing
What it is: Ink pressed onto a product using a pad, limited to 3–4 colours.
Best for: Pens, bottles, cups, and smaller promotional items.
Things to know: Cost-effective for compact logos and limited print areas.
Rotary Digital Printing
What it is: Full-colour digital print wrapped around cylinder-shaped items.
Best for: Drink bottles, mugs, and items with gradient logos or large print areas.
Things to know: Recommended hand wash only for printed bottles and mugs.
Screen Printing
What it is: Ink pressed through a mesh screen onto the product.
Best for: Large flat areas like bags, t-shirts, and hoodies.
Things to know: Works best for solid colours, not gradients.
Sublimation
What it is: Edge-to-edge full-colour printing that embeds ink directly into fabric.
Best for: Lanyards, stubby coolers, sports jerseys, caps, and toys.
Things to know: Always applied onto a white base material (usually polyester or polyester blends). Creates vibrant, durable designs.
